Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  Philipians 4:6

This is the verse I have been repeating to myself throughout this process.  Before we started, I was very intimidated by all the paperwork.  I am not sure if that intimidation has gone away; but we have gotten pretty far along without too much stress.  We are having our home study on Saturday and hopefully our pysch evaluation next week.  Those are two big things to mark off the list.  After they are done, we are ready to get all the documents authenticated.  Then, we will send everything to the Haitian embassy in Chicago, translate it and off to the IBESR in Haiti.  We are praying we can get this accomplished by the end of April.  We ask that you pray with us.

We got to talk to Jimmy again this week.  It is always wonderful to see him and get to talk (as best we can).  Hunter & Jillian are so good to spend their time with us skyping.  We appreciate them so much.

If you can, we ask that you come to our benefit on Thursday, March 31.  Christian comedian, Bob Smiley, is doing a show to help us and our friends, The Hoover's, raise funds for our adoptions.  It is at 7:00 pm at Memorial Road Church of Christ.  Get tickets here, http://www.bobsmiley.com/.  It is going to be a fun night.  You don't want to miss out.  Tickets are $10 ($15 at the door) and $8 for college students.  Really hope to see you there.

  1. Sounds like you are moving right along. My sister, Carole Pettus, has been Richarde's sponsor for quiet a while. I know she would like to know how to contact the family adopting him,if you could send me that information. I will keep looking through our photos for pictures of Jimmy Charles. Our pictures from last summer all got ruined when the camera got washed in the machine. I found a few a sent them to Cole. I hope he has forwarded them to you. When the OK boys from CHCH all have a reunion, hopefully soon, please invite Samuel. We plan to get him and Duchaine together this summer. Keep "trucking." You are actually in the easy part right now . It is when it gets to Haiti that things can really get frustrating and interesting!!! God has a plan and it will happen on His timetable.
